For over 77 years, Skopes has been at the heart of British tailoring. Our story began in 1948 when founder Sydney Cope opened his shop in Leeds with a simple vision: to craft impeccable garments using only the finest Yorkshire fabrics. From those early days, Skopes became known for its exceptional craftsmanship—renowned for cavalry twills, Hebden Bridge corduroy, and the finest worsted yarns from Huddersfield.

As our reputation grew, so did our offering. From bespoke trousers to a full ready-to-wear collection, Skopes evolved to meet the needs of modern gentlemen while staying true to our heritage. The brand has remained a proud family business through the decades—passing from Sydney to his son Geoffrey, and today, to his grandson Simon Cope.

Now, Skopes continues to combine tradition with innovation, delivering stylish, well-tailored suits and menswear for every occasion—from weddings, proms, race days and everything in between. While our designs move with the times, our roots remain firmly in Yorkshire.
